Default 2008 Precedent Illustrated Part Catalog.

A very nice person gave me a link to the 2007 CC illustrated parts catalog which I was able to download. Now I can find that post,.. pretty dump right!

Anyway, there are quite a few differences in the 2007 and my 2008.5 so if anyone knows where I can get the IPC for the 2008 I would be very grateful. I purchased the light kit and the bucket harness, but none of this came with any kind of schematic, and now I'm trying to trace down the Brake Light switch, and the wiring for the Turn signals. Any help would be appreciated.

Zackman,...Thanks for the link,...It's great to have people here that know where to look. I've got it downloaded. This parts catalog goes a long way in showing you where and how everything is connected. What I'm trying to figure out is what is the best way to take off ONLY the necessary parts in order to get at the body that needs painting. The front cowling or hood does not apprear to be held down by any nuts or bolts so it must snap on/off once several other pieces are removed. I know 100's of poeple have painted these carts since the 2005 models came out so you would think someone has documented the easy way to get at the two parts that really need painting. Any suggestions????

trigger1937,

I currently have my cart mostly taken down with the exception of the two body pieces i.e. front cowl and back. As you stated, the front cowl can be removed quite easily by removing the bolts at the trim piece up top. The back seems to be a little more involved; however, I have surmised that the removal of the front seat bolts, the bolts around the top of the battery bucket parallel to the front seat bolts, and the complete rear strut platform will pretty much remove most of the back.

I am thinking about just replacing the tan color I have with another body color such as red or black, but I am comtemplating whether I want to spend the $$$ or attempt what you are going to do such as painting the pieces.

Tomorrow I will go back out into the garage and really study what must be accomplished to remove these two pieces. It sure is cheaper to paint the pieces. I also have to think about the top as well. I will post any additional information if applicable.

I am sure others have accomplished this and so let's see what they have to offer.

Zackman,... Thanks for all the great info. I'll look forward to your findings. My Tan cart was damaged in a Sandstorm down in Palm Desert. I've painted many things and I have all of the equipment, but I still plan to practice on something before I do the cart. However, since the initial task is to prep the surface and then Put a good primer coat, that will give me the confidence I need. If it doesn't turn out right I'll just take the body parts to the local cart store that does complete refurbish and let them do it.

My big problem is that I play golf 3-4 times a week and I will have to ride with a buddy.

trigger1937,

Ok - I went out to the garage and looked at my '08 CC Precedent again in regard to the two body pieces. The front cowl is held in position by eight or nine bolts i.e. 5 up front underneath the fascia and either 3 or 4 on the dash trim. The rear body piece seems to be held intact by the two main bolts in the rear, one each on the passenger's and driver's side. I looked under both rear wheel wells and could not find any attachments keeping the rear body piece in position.

The bolts mentioned, under the front seat, in my previous post will have to be removed also. This seems to be one of those "find out as you go" projects; however, it does not seem to be all that difficult.

I still have not decided whether I am just going to replace the pieces versus painting them or just leave it as is for now. If you should tackle the removal, please post your results. Thanks!

Around here, painting runs about $500 which includes the roof . . . replacement body shells with solid color through out (so scratches won't be as noticeable) runs about the same price, not including the roof . . . I am leaning towards the solid color body sets in a metallic . . only downfall is limited color availability . .

Stevegrmich,

Thanks for the feedback on the pricing in regard to the body pieces in your area. I have never painted any body panels and don't want to "flub" anything up. Sometimes, it is just cheaper (maybe) and less aggravation to go a different route.

Here is link for body sets I am considering . . just have to find local dealer in your area that can order them for you, if interested:
