I installed a 6" lift wheels and tires, 500 amp alltrax controller, 400a solenoid, #2 wires. The speed and torque is good, now I have lost range. Cart is an 08 precedent I have not load tested batteries but last weekend went riding with a stock ds and I just about didnt make it back, his was fine. We both pulled our carts off charge before we left. We only rode around for about 20 minutes before mine starting loosing power.

Also is it normal for the batteries to boil out often. I have battery acid spots in my garage

Are the batteries overfilled? Are the caps on tight? Original batteries?

An 08 precedent I assume has 4-12V batteries. If it was a fleet cart or the batteries were not properly cared fore, they are shot if only rode you for 20 mins! Charge the cart fully, when it gets near the end of the charge cycle, check the pack voltage. Should be up around 60v's. Let it sit for an hour or two after the charger completes the cycle. Ck voltage again. It should be at least 50v's. If it 48.5-49v's, really no need to load thes them, they are done! I bought my 08 as a fleet cart and had to get new batteries this spring.

get a single float hydrometer if you don't have one already.

excessive boiling of batteries is a good indication one or more cells is toast. 20min of run time is a good indication one or more cells is toast.

I am charging now, I will check. I have checked voltage them after a charge before. It was probably longer than a few hours but I was getting 48 volts. I also noticed that the guy with the ds charger was quiet and mine hums does this matter?

48v's a few hours or a day after a charge without driving is dead batteries. Good ones should read 50.9v's 48.0v's is only 45% charged! You should never even let your carts batteries run down to 48 much less start on 48!

Sorry, you need new batteries. And yes, it should hum.

I dont guess another 600 will hurt since Im this Far. Is club car made by Jeep or Harley?

I was having all those symtoms that you descibed. My batts were 4 1/2 year old OEM 2007 Trojans. I put new Trojans in and all that crap vanished Now I have lots of run-time and power. I followed the break-in guide in the stickies and also on Scottybs website.

Get new batts and you will be good to go for years

Note: Whenever you do a performance upgrade, you have to have strong batteries, as any problems with your pack will surely surface

When you install the new batteries, charge them fully before you even take that quick test drive! I know its hard but resist! Also, if you have never put in a new set before, they will get stronger with each charge. They will be pretty good in 15-20 charges.
