Default 2008 Club Car DS - Should rear tires run when off the ground?

Over the weekend I put some heavy duty springs and a rear flip seat on my cart. The project is not finished yet because one of the u-bolts on the rear axle was badly bent and I had to cut it off. But for kicks and grins, while the cart is on the jack stands, I decided to hit the pedal to see if the motor would spin the rear wheels. They started to turn, then I heard a click and they stopped. The cart was working perfectly before I started working on it. Should the motor spin the tires while they are not touching the ground?

Nope the brakes were not engaged. I wonder if I snagged a wire or pulled one loose some how. But it worked perfectly before I swapped the springs and installed the flip seat. It will start to spin for maybe three revolutions then I hear a "click" and it stops. Almost like it is hitting an overload and switching off.

Yep it's got to be a loose wire or something. I didn't short anything out when I was swapping the springs out. I did move the rear end around some but maybe I snagged a wire in the process. It sends just enough juice to spin the tires two or three revolutions and I then hear one click and they stop.

Solved it was a loose wire to the controller. After I took the rear seat cushion and the inspection cover off. I saw the wire that had come loose. Here is a picture. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...-open-lug.html

Yes it does plug to the obvious spade terminal, but is that a chewed up wire jacket I see on the gray wire? Did a mouse get in there and pull the wire off? Looks funny?
