Default '96 CC - Thoughts

Hello, New member from CA.
I have read through this site, and am enamored with the knowledge here. I am hoping at some point, I can contribute as well.

For now, I am looking at buying a 96 CC 36v with new charger.

Are there any points I should look at specificly? Any major problems with this year?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any and all advice!

J

welcome to BGW.........any reason you havn,t concidered a 48 volt or is this just the deal of the time? its a pretty basic cart that you can upgrade but you would want right now is the age and condition of batteries and how they are maintained and also make sure the charger works........they will be your biggest expense so good luck, enjoy and have fun.......................

Hey thanks for the responce and welcome.
I would rather have a 48v, but am picking this one up for 500. Seems like a steal to me. Brand new charger comes with it. He said he paid 300 for it.
Not sure on the batteries though. He has had it almost 2 years, and hasnt had any problems, but dosnt know how old they are.

What is the main advantages to 48v?

See if there is a date code on the lug of the battery. This will tell you the year of the batteries.

Great thanks!! I am going to look at it tomorrow.
What do you think of that price? Seems like a steal to me, but I am very ignorant about carts.

Also, may be a dumb question, but could I replace the batteries with 3 12v ones made for carts?

Forgot to ask, whats up with the newer roof conversion. I saw one member here did it, and it looked WAY better!!

Any idea on pricing and/or place to buy?

If I purchase it, I will probablly have a thousand more questions, so sorry in advance. ha.

You wouldn't want to do that! The 6X6 set up is much better than 3X12! Longer run time and loonger battery life.

Ok, that makes sence on the batteries.

I asked because I have some friends who work at the local course, and they thought they could hook me up with some good used 12v batteries from there newer ez-go 48v systems.

I will just hope the batteries are in good shape and last me a while.

Anybody throw in on the tops?

It will cost as much or more than the cart. You need a top and frame and the new style seats.

48 volt is stronger and gives more runtime thats all ..............like i said you can upgrade the cart your buying and 500 seems good but makes one think it may need batteries which are 600 to 800 depending on where you live......you can buy cheaper batteries but keep in mind its an electric cart that depends on batteries to power it so the last place to try and save a buck is with batteries......most cases it comes back to bite ya...........there are other areas to save money..........................
