Re: winterizing
thats a tough one since they are 8 volt......if you stay with them while your charging about once a month you can throw a 12 volt charger on for 1/2 hour or so.......just stick around in case..............................

Re: winterizing
if i leave them in the cart, on the charger will it last all winter?
will they be ok in the spring? id hate to have to go get the batteries x6 and bring em home. similar question, my RV also has a battery in it. can i leave both of them (rv and cart) charging all winter, outdoors? i assume there will be 3ft of snow and several blizzards. |

I leave mine in the cart all winter (southern Wisconsin), but I get there about once a month to check on things. |

Re: winterizing
A lot of the cart dealers in Ontario will pick up your cart, store it in doors and maintain the charger on it all winter long. They then return it to the camp site when required. About half the carts in our campground were picked up in the last couple of weeks.

Re: winterizing
im in montreal but the cart is not far in new york. near the canadian border.
the dead of winter will be cold, the cart would be outside, directly exposed to the elements, with possibly a tarp over it. but if you think my cases will crack or that itll use 200$ of electricity staying on the charger, i might as well bring them or the cart home. ill still need to take batteries out when i get it here. i dont have a garage. and my boat is in the carport..... and yes i do bring in my boat batteries. so that makes 10 freakin batteries to haul out in next 2 weeks..... ;( ill top them up in january unless they drop voltage sooner, in a heated basement. if they dont hold a charge then they already have a problem. i plan on wiring them up with 12ga wire and using the 48v charger to maintain em. thats alot of work. if i skip it and leave everything outside, will they survive? |
