Default Storing a cart

I will be storing my cart in my workshop for the winter. Is there any advice on how to deter mice from making a home inside my cart? I don't use my shop during the winter and will only head out there every two weeks to charge it so it will be dark and quite for the little buggers if they decide to make a home. I haven't had an issue since I built it 10 years ago but you never know

I live in a mild climate and am surrounded by wheat fields. To say we have a rodent problem is an understatement......
I have recently learned that peppermint oil on a rag or cotton swabs can deter the little buggers from hanging around as it totally overwhelms their sense of smell which they live by. Refresh with a few drops of the concentrate every 2 weeks and your cart should be safe as could be.

Picked up two bottles of peppermint oil today. I will also take the seat off and store it in my basement.

To keep them out of the summer house place 2 boxes of moth balls under it so smell desn't get inside, never had a problem except when wife left a bag of bird food on porch, found it everywhere.
