I have a 2006 precedent and I bought scottys meter. I used the two wires behind the dash panel they read the 51vdc all the time with or with out the key. The wires appear to be there from the factory for this type of meter. It took me 10 minutes to cut the hole in the dash and wire it. It works great except that it will not go in reverse right away and my yellow battery light comes on for a few seconds I have to move the switch a few times from forward to reverse and then it gives the reverse buzzer and moves. If I leave the F/R switch in neutral it will read 8vdc so I have to leave the run/ tow switch in tow and put the F/R switch in forward or reverse so the meter goes off. I spoke to Scotty about it and a fix most likely would be to wire direct from the batteries. I just left it they way I have it until I get a light kit and fix it then. I think it messes with the OBC some how causing it to think it has a low voltage. But runs perfect. It works fine if the wires are not hooked up to the meter no yellow battery light and the cart goes into reverse right away. Weird. After reading this thread I might try just put a toggle switch next to the meter in the dash?

Somehow you have wires messed up. The F/R switch has 3 wires, 2 of which go directly to the controller, (White and Blue.) The red lead is fed by the red fuse. You must have something else that was wired to either the Orange or Black lead, the wires used by CC for the Bar Gauge, whether inside the dash or under your controller shield between the batteries. Are you sure you didn't tap into one of the wires attached to the Yellow warning light by mistake?

The cart is 100% stock except for the speed kit I have on the motor. Nothing else is wired on the cart that is not factory. No way to mess up the meter wires even if I reversed them. I tested with and with out speed kit. Does same thing either with it installed or not. ?? I only hooked up the orange and black wires didn't cut into any wires.

If I shut off the Tow/Run switch I'll also see a voltage reading on my digital meter. But there has never been the yellow warning light coming on nor a reverse/forward issue. If you are saying that once the meter is removed your yellow warning light and your reverse/forward issue goes away, then I'll still suggest that there is a wiring issue with your cart.

According to a wiring diagram the color wires I "should have said in my previous posts" are Black/Yellow and Red. They should have been the wires not connected to anything and are used for optional Battery Indicator. The Brown/White and Orange are the wires that connect to your Yellow Warning Light and those wires should not be used.

I forgot to mention this issue only happens when the cart sits a day or so and once I use it it won't happen until I charge it and let it sit. I hooked up to the two loose wires and they were not hooked up to my yellow battery light. I will look at it again to see colors I just thought some one new the colors of the loose wires and it sounded good to me. Lol I'll have to verify. Thanks for diagram

It's been quite a while since I hooked my 2 meters up and obviously my memory was not the greatest on the color wires. But to make absolutely sure you can always use the Hot side of your Key switch as one post to your meter and use a good ground lead to the other. That black wire should be the ground... you can test it to be absolutely sure you have a proper ground. At least this will rule out any possible feedback issues.

Well.... here are the new trims
These will allow you to cut a sloppy hole ~ or use an old Curtis bar graph meter hole ~ or just dress up an otherwise plain little LED meter.

That was super fast Scotty

I made a better picture of the wiring in the dash of a Precedent showing both the optional Battery Indicator wiring as well as the Key Switch.

Now that it's an easy install hopefully you'll have a few more takers for the best Digital Meter out there
