Default Newbie with DS question

Hello,
I recently purchased my first cart, a real gem(sarcasam), and am planning on starting a post with pics, all my questions, and evolution of repair.

To start I have one question I need answered before I can even buy things for it.

My serial number is "A9747"

But the seat is a one-piece back. To my knowledge these were only on 2001+ carts... Did someone just put a newer seat back on an older cart?

The cart is in real bad shape, so I cannot tell what is origional and what is not.

Any help would be great, as I am excited to start my project, and bother you all with 5000 questions!!

Thanks

Jay

Yes, I have a 95' that I put the newer seats on. I think they look better. I got the seat bench and complete back for $50.00 at a cart shop off one of their junkers in the back.

4972????? Im outta here!!!

Thats for the heads up on the seat. I also like the look better, and seems like it may be more comfortable.

I am adding a bag rack to the back, like stock, would I need the one for 2001+ carts to match the seat then, or older to match the cart?

Thanks!!

Your serial number shows your cart is a 1997, with a build week of 47. . . . the 99 DS I had was equipped with individual seat backs for the front seat . . . my 06 DS has a solid seat back for front seat . . .

Yeah, I am guessing it was done by a previous owner.

I would still like to know if I should use a 2001+ back rack, or a pre 01 version.

There is no roof on it, so I need to fit the back rack mounts to the cart, and back of seats.

Thanks!

Back rack meaning the setup to hold 2 golf bags...

Will this one work?

Yes, that is the correct backet for the single seat back.
