Default Paint vs OEM Panels

Posted this in the design area, nobody responded, so will try here. Looking to paint cart this Christmas, was leaning towards yellow with red secon choice. Paint exsiting is 500 bucks. Can get OEM panels in Red off of E-bay for 400, would seem solid color panels are going to be more durable than paint. Paint might get a better sheen, but this will also be a working cart and subject to some scratches, thoughts? TIA

I agree . . . scratches in paint will show color underneath paint . . . here is an idea . . just need to find local vendor to order for you:

Saw those, don't care for the Precedent custom style they use, checked they don't make OEM in yellow or at least I couldn't find it, looks like red for me.

I would check with a few other paint and body shops. I can get one painted around here for less than 400. Especially if you just hand them the body. I also think you need to stick with the yellow :)

Paint will scratch! If it will be a working cart, I would go for the OME body! You might even be able to find a nonworking cart with a good body for cheep!

I agree paint will scratch. If you choose to find an OEM body make sure they didn't paint it to get a color they needed. I have seen EZ Go bodies come from the factory that were painted because they needed a certain quantity of a certain color and ran out of bodies. Solution, paint to match.

$395.00 includes shipping to a business. It's an extra $45.00 to ship to your house. Check with your local cart dealers and see what they could get one for you. Also, I live in the middle of nowhere but I have a little shop near me and he gets custom dipped bodies. They look really good.
