ForBruce, First I commend you for sending me the cable, at your expense, not needed, but since you offered. 2nd, I mean no offense by the notes below, it's nothing towards you, just a direct comparison of the cables.

I took a couple of pictures, this definitely not not welding cable, but I think we know that already, this is not nearly as flexible as my two gauge Welding cable, the jacket is indeed thicker, the paper liner is comparable. The strands of this wire from For Bruce is thicker, it's not nearly as fine as the welding cable...

My take... Used for High Amperage DC environments like UPS systems for computer rooms or commercial power, not good for golf carts, not nearly as flexible and not worth the headache. Here are pictures of it from the end and from the strands spread out.... My cable is on the left in each of these pictures, ForBruce's on the right.. Spend $40 and get some good quality Welding cable.

You can make your hair out of whatever kind of cables you want... I have my mind made up about this. I can see the strand count is not what it should be for 2g welders cable. I,m done trying to explain this but I am not going to let you convince the membership that they need to strip the jacket off of the 2g when I can push 600 strand welding cable thru and obc all day long with the neoprene jack unmolested & intact. End of discussion.
Why do you feel the need to be recognized as right when you are so clearly mistaken about the value of the process you started this thread with?
GO to ace hardware and buy a foot or 2 of 2 g welding cable with neoprene jacket and 600 strands inside.... put a little WD40 on it and whoosh, it slides right thru the obc hole... Scubbabud had me check that for you all a long time ago... phew
