Default Which Interstate Battery?

It looks as if I might be buying some new batteries for my late 80's Melex 36v. I got the cart cheap knowing I may have to get batteries. I have an Interstate dealer right around the corner from me I've been doing business with for 15 years. I usually just buy all blems from them and I've had very good luck with every single one.

I talked with them yesterday about batteries. This is what I found out.

Blems $65

Black Box $90

GC2-RD $96
Cycles -550
Reserve Capacity (at 75A) – 107
Amp Hour (20 hr.) – 208

GC2-HD $106
Cycles - 600
Reserve Capacity (at 75A) – 115
Amp Hour (20 hr.) – 216

GC2-XHD $116
Cycles – 650
Reserve Capacity (at 75A) – 122
Amp Hour (20 hr.) – 232

Blems are something that was either brought back or had a flaw in the manufacturing. Could be a nick in the case or a terminal that isn't just right but functionally it is a good battery.

The Black Box is just that. It's a battery they use for fleet vehicle where name doesn't matter. I don't know the specs on these.

That being said my purpose for the vehicle is to take it around the neighbor hood every once in a while. My neighborhood isn't very big. I also plan on taking it to the beach where It will probably travel a couple miles a day for a week or two a year. And if I happen to hit the golf course I'd like to be able to use it there.

So what's the best battery for my purpose? Money is tight now but I don't want to be buying new batteries a couple years from now.

Default Re: Which Interstate Battery?

welcome troll. i purchased my interstates with about the same specs as rd model you show at sam's. this was last year and the price was $67 each. sounds like the blems would be the best deal if they have the same warranty as the others. with proper break in and maintenance, they should last quite a while. read up on batts. at cartsunlimited. he is a sponsor.
