Default Battery Restoring???

Saw this on E-Bay. Any truth to it? I am in need of batteries, and am just exploring all my possibilities.

If batteries could be restored the manufactures would all close shop.... the general consensus here is this may extend your battery life in some cases but it will not stop the inevitable demise of the batteries. Your results will vary

All that is, is a recipe for epsom salt treatment for batteries. It can extend the life of some batteries. You could find it by googling it. If you can't afford new batteries it my be worth a shot. I wouldn't do it but it has been done with some success for others.

I would try " scottyb's " tips on breaking in new batteries! It worked pretty well for me on old batteries that I use now! Here's his site:

Haha... Well played sir.

Thanks for the input so far. And I have already read over the Carts Unlimited site. Seems like a real knowledgable guy for sure! He is lucky his company is not near me, or I would be in there every week picking his brain!

I may try to get a set of batteries from my local shop, used, and see if I can make them work with those tips. I shold be able to get them for 20-25 each, so might be worth the try, compared to 650 or so for a new set. (6-8v's)

Just fyi, I am working on my first build, real budget. So I wold like to not go with the new route, but will if that ends up being my only real option.

So I am taking that it would not be worth buying that stuff to put in old batteries, and just charge them correctly?

i know we go over this all the time but i,ll say it again.........yes i know batteries are the biggest expense but your dealing with a cart that is electric and the last place to even consider cutting cost is the one thing that powers the cart...........the batteries.........its like mixing water and gas and putting it in your car to try and save on the gas...........yes i know water and gas don,t mix its just an example..............i mean if your gonna save money why not buy like cheaper tires and wheels or don,t put the carbon fibre dash on..............i just see this so much when someone has a problem and you lift the seat and can see thats where they tried to save money......................please no one take offense to this none is meant but if the cost of batteries is an issue maybe its time to think about a gas cart????..................maybe its just me but the one thing that powers the cart is the very last place i would cut corners..........................

I really do agree with this... I wouldnt want a 1 ton truck with a 4 cylinder motor. Buuuuut.... I am just trying to go real budget to start. Got the tires used for free, body for 40, bumper for free, steering wheel for 20... Was thinking that it would be nice to get it going, even if the batteries only lasted a year or less, to make sure all other components on cart work, before adding any aftermarket parts (dash, lights, etc)
Also, I have no batteries as of now, so if I can get them for 20 each, and get a 10 core charge when I get new ones, I figure it might be a good idea.

Again, not set on this idea, just kickin in around, and really just asking you guys in the know opinions. I am an idiot when it comes to carts so far.... but learning

Tom ................... take a breath.
....... You're right about batteries being important but alot of these guys are just getting into that 1st cart and it takes them a little while to learn what you are trying to teach them

Used batteries beat hell out of none ~lol.

Haha, I appreciate the realness of the answer. I promise, you cannot hurt my feelings. I always try to learn from others mistakes, even if it seems impossible sometimes.

BTW, I am not even sure the entire system works
