Default OBC for '96 CC--Which Manufacture?

I have a '96 CC that has 1 year old batts that runs good, but lately the charger doesn't want to stay on longer than a few minutes. The red batt light goes on sometimes as well. I believe that the OBC is due for replacement. I see that there are several manufactures of these units. There has been references made in other threads, that there are certain units that have "updates". Which is the one to buy? Who do I get it from without getting burned? Factory? AfterMarket? OEM Mfg?

If you purchse one from a Club Car dealer you will get the updated OBC. Just do youself a favor and don't buy an aftermarket unit.

you want an OEM unit that way you should get the other parts to complete the update.........you,ll need to change the battery light and the grey wire in the charger receptical and that part is just a little tricky at times but i wouldn,t buy one if it dosn,t come with that stuff........i know a fellow who just had his done at a golf cart repair place......a big name place but all they did was slap a OBC in it without putting the rest in it........paid more than the shabby job they did paid much more.......itsfunny cause when i tell a customer they need an OBC and the upgrade kit and i explaine everything in detail and give them a price half of what other places want they squawk like crap but a few days later come back and say when can you do it..............i know what they are doing they are getting prices from everyone only to find out that i,ll do it cheaper and they,ll get the complete job...........i will not put a generic OBC in even if they buy it i won,t touch it.......been there done that...............do it but spend a few more dollars and do it right......................
