Default What do I need to convert 36v DS to 48v

I have a 1993 Cc DS serial resistor 36 volt (6x6v) I would like to convert to 48 volt (6x8v). Would this give me more torque and speed? What would I need to be able to do this. I've read you can use the same 36 volt motor, is that true and what about longevity of the motor. Thanks in advance for your help.

welcome to BGW...........yes you can upgrade, you,ll need batteries, a controller, a pot box a 48 volt solenoiod ( might get away with current F%R assmb. ) cables, a 48 volt charge receptical and a 48 volt charger.......you can use your motor and if your batteries are good you can always just throw 2 more 6 volt batts in..............in all honesty talk with scotty as he as set many members up with good quailty parts to do this upgrade............will you be happier? yes sir........is it cheap? no sir.........takes about a day to do it and if your gonna just do it right.................................

Keep in mind this is a resistor cart and they (the resistors) do NOT like being overvolted.

There are. That's how Shadowman converted his resistor cart to Solid state 48v
Shoot me an email and lets see what you got and what you want it to do.
