Smile OBC -48 wiring 2005 Precedent

Hi Gang,

Got a 2005 Precedent and trying to figure out the - 48 black wires comming out of the OBC. These are two wires that appear together comming out of the OBC. They are NOT the big black wire that passes thru the OBC.

One of the wires runs to the B- on the controler, and the other wire has an off white spade terminal on it, and that is the wire I cannot figure where it goes.

Doing the 6 - 8volt battery conversion, and I labeled all the wires, but missed the one with the spade terminal on it.

I would appreciate any help you can provide - THANKS.

Dave

Steve3201,

THANKS for the reply. The black wires that are in question are on the controller (the little square device, that has the negative battery cable passing thru it).
The wiring diagram that I found on another post is very hard to read, but I'm thinking the black wire with the connector goes to the charge recepticle, and the other black goes to the B- on the controller.

I would greatly appreciate anybody's thoughts.

Thanks, Dave

That is your OBC, not your controller.

the wires and cable from OBC the 6 gage cable runs from the neg. terminal of last battery thur OBC and to B- of controller the 10 gage black wire runs from the back of the charge receptical to B- of controller.....the small gage wires most of them run to B- of controller you can tell by the ring terminals on the end of them............i,m not sure about your cart but any wires that don,t go to the controller either go to the solenoid small post you,ll have the real small ring terminals on the ends of wires...........if you have a wire with a spade connector just look for the other part of it ( the part it plugs into ) there should only be one wire with a spade connector.............................

erict,

Yep, you are correct - my bad.

Anyhow, I ran accross an old post by scottyb from 7-9-2009, and it explains the function of the wires from the OBC. It is as I thought: 1 wire goes to the charger receptacle, and one goes to the B- on the controller.
