Default My Charger doesnt turn off automatically.....

I just got back from the first real use of my cart since Ive had it.........Before this, I would plug it in overnight every now and then. I just added a voltage meter to the mix. I would plug it in overnight and by morning, It would be as high as 53 volts.......Should the charger shut off automatically or could something else be wrong????

For a 48V cart, that is perfectly normal!

It may take 10 to 14 hours for the charger to turn off. This depends on how long your cart was running.

Ahh. Thanks. Obviously I'm new to this and I want to make sure they don't get overcharged

The cut off voltage your CC charger is looking for is officially 58.3 .... darn if I have aver seen one shut off below 63 volts. If your pack or charger is not capable of this voltage peak it will not shut off until it 'times out' at 16 hours. This would indicate a problem. Everything you are telling us now sounds okay as mentioned in the previous post.

Nice to have a meter that can monitor the charger as well as the batts
