Recommendations for which Club Car should I buy
Hi all: I currently have a Yamaha G16 gas as my "up North" golf cart and it is perfect for my hilly application there. I am now looking to purchase another "down South" Golf cart here in Florida for the winter. I thought I wanted another "gasser" but am finding gassers are practically non-existent here in Florida. Sooo, I'm looking at Electric Club Cars with absolutely no idea what I am doing. I think I should be trying to stick with a 48 V. cart but not sure. I also think I should try to steer clear of resistor carts, but not sure. I would like some advice as to what CC system I should be looking for or steering clear of. Are there any Club Car "lemon" years or systems I should be avoiding. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance - RAY

Re: Recommendations for which Club Car should I buy
I would look for a 48V series cart. 95-97 are some years to look past. Something later then that would be OK.

Just trying to come up with a cart to run around paved roads in our community. Not looking to lift but would like to have ability to add some speed.

Man I am an ezgo guy, and for your case I would recommend a PDS cart. Not sure what they have like that in the club car world, except in the precedent.
You can add speed to anything, all it takes is money$$$$ But like Colby said, go 48v for sure. |

Forgot to add, also look for a cart with 6-8v batteries vs 4-12v batteries!

Re: Recommendations for which Club Car should I buy
Bump - Thanks guys for all for the responses so far . I decided to expand my horizons to include EZ-GO's also! Would appreciate a few more comments though if possible!! Still not feeling as knowledgeable as I think I should . Thanks - RAY
PS - Here's what I know so far: CLUB CAR - Stick with 1998 and above, 48 v, series cart. EZ-GO - Stick with 2000 & above, PDS, 48 v. What should I look for besides "kicking the tires?? I know battery age & maybe frame corrosion. |

Re: Recommendations for which Club Car should I buy
If you live near the salt water, I would stay with Club Car because of the aluminum frame. E Z Go has a steel frame. I have a 2010 Precedent that I use around the neighborhood and the golf course and its great. I have it set at speed setting 4 and that is plenty fast for what I need such as running down to the store and its faster than most of the carts on the course. it has a very nice comfortable ride.
