Default 08 club car precedent 1 battery wont hold charge??

Need some help with this one, been scrathing my head for 2 weeks.
I got a used 08 club car with 4 12 volt battiers, the #4 keep losing charge overnight, only this battery.( the one with the blue jumper for acessorys) I have swaped it out with another new battery and have the same issue. After placing a charge on the one i removed it tested fine on a load and holds a charge. So I know have a short or something draing that one battery only, but cant figure out what it could be. I have lights installed thinking it might be the problem but it does its still with them completly disconected, The advice I got from the local shop was a bad cell in the battery, but as I have said I cahnged it out with a new one and same issues. Has anyone had this problem? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

did you replace it with a brand new battery or another used one? It does sound like a bad cell, it could possibly just be a conwinsident(spelling??).

Yes a brand new one. I also even tryed my marine battery out of my boat to verify. There is definitley a draw somewhere. when i remove the battery from the cart it holds fine and I have left it out for about a week and load tested it everyday, it held fine.

are your cables from the charge receptical hooked to the right batteries? your pos should be on the #1 battery and the neg. should be on the #4 battery...............sometimes people hook one of the wires up wrong and end up not charging a battery.................when its either the 1st battery or last battery and theres no legit reason why its always dead thats a place to look..............check your charge receptical wires..........................

If it is charging and loosing charge over night as you stated and you are using a light kit as stated I would think that you have a current draw somewhere between the battery and light kit. The easiest way that I can think of to check for sure is to disconnect the light kit from the battery and see if the problem goes away.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I just reread your post again and I see you tried that. Did you disconnect the light kit at the battery? Are you sure that the battery is charging when you charge the pack?

Steve,...The #4 battery has a blue wire off the + terminal that supplies power up to the Dash panel where it is connected to the light kit. Leave all the batteries connected as usual and the tow/run ON, and pull the connector wire out of the Blue lead on #4 battery. If you want you can let it set overnight to prove the battery won't discharge. By the way,..when you have tested this before, did you turn the Key Switch off?

For the next test, make sure the Key switch is off. Locate and remove the three screws that will remove the Dash panel. Measure the voltage on the key switch. Find the 48 volt relay and measure the +48 volts input with the key switch on and then off. Measure the +12 Volts that passes through the 48 volt relay. This is the voltage that comes from the blue tab on the #4 battery. It will be the input wire on the pass thru contacts of the 48 volt relay. Verify that you can measure the +12 volts from the blue wire of #4 by reconnecting it and then taking it off. Once you have done all of this you have found and proved you have the correct wire. To be real safe,.. disconnect all the wires on the + post of the #1 battery. The the key switch off, and the blue lead disconnected, tow/run in tow measure the OHM resistince of that +12 volt wire in the DASH to ground (which should only be the negative pole of the #4 battery. You should measure "OPEN",.. in other words, there should be no path for current to flow to ground. If you measure anything, then this is the power drain that is killing your #4 battery. Now you have to find out why and where that wire is connected to anything else. You said you had disconnected your light kit,...just where and how did you disconnect it. Disconnect one thing at a time until you finally get an "OPEN" condition. For example, unplug the bucket harness connector in the DASH area. Unplug the light kit harness. Unplug the turn signal connector. Unplug the wires to the Light switch. Keep going until you find it.

Steve,,.. I forgot to add one important item. Test both sides of the +12 volt line in the DASH. With the main light switch OFF and the brake pedal off there should be NO current drain on the +12 so you should measure "Open" or very high resistance,..like over 1 megohm. If you cart has the light timer, it could be defective and drawing current all the time. When you leave your cart parked over night, do you leave the Parking brake on???. One other question,..did the cart come stock with the light kit or did you add it.
