I have seen more resistance through a crimp connection versus a silver soldered connection. Personal experience.

You could just strip the ends of the cables, twist the ends real tight, wrap them around the terminal, and secure it with a washer and wing nut.

Or, you could do it right.

I got my wire samples ~ the strand count was 270 on the 2g that's not half the 640 strands in 2g welding cable.
