Default 1st Post and Starting point need reccomendations!

Hello! First off let me say I love this forum! I recently aquired a 2001 48V Club Car DS in perfect condition but completly stock! I need to put a rear seat on it for starters but I am a gear head and run 9 seconds in a quarter mile so the cart just isnt fast enough! I want that TQ head whipped back feeling! I will eventually be moding the whole cart motor, controller, body, everything, but for now I just want it to go a little faster than it does. Is there any way to do that? I have been reading for days and just decided that I should ask all of the experts here! So what would you guys suggest? I will be posting pictures and progress through out the entire process!

Thanks!

Welcome. For starters, find a steep hill. All other methods will cost you money.

Seriously I wish I could help but I've got a Precedent so I'm not too familiar with DS's. There's some great guy/gals on here though so I'm sure you'll find some that can help.

Hello, I have a precedent, but this advice should pertain to your DS: #1: Make sure all your batts are good. #2: Start off with new cables and an upgraded motor. That will get you going faster. Then you can add a HP solenoid and bigger controller later for that TQ head stuff you crave.

HP, as in high performance solenoid. This is required if you plan on going with a bigger controller. I was told that the stock one will work, but will burn up fairly quickly, depending on how many amps the new controller is.
