Seacrets,... You need to do a Hydrometer test on each cell of that battery. Sounds like you have one cell or more that is almost dead. I had a similar problem and I got really lucky. I asked my local Club Car dealer if he had any used 12volt trojans for sale. He laughed and said that they have been busy for months swapping out 12 volts systems and converting them back to 8 volts. He said he had two pallets of used 12 volt trojans and that I could have my pick,..no charge. Everyone knows you can put a new battery in with 3 old ones but you can find a decent returned battery. Many people buy all 4 at one time and I get at least 2 of them were in pretty good shape. So call you local dealer and see what he can do.

foglejs,...The cost depends on which cart you have. I have a 2008.5 CC and it contains the correct Tub/bucket already. All I need to do is pull out the old center guide, install the new batteries, add one more hold down bar and I think all the plastic hold downs need to be changed to match the 8 volt battery spacing. TahoeDawg also says we need to change either the OBC or the controller to correctly charge the 8 volt batteries. That will be the most expensive part.

i wonder if you need to change OBC if you put eight 6 volt batteries in instead of six 8 volt batteries? just a thought.............................
