There's no need for you to pay for the speed code if you're going to change the magnet. You can go just as fast without reprogramming it if you do a magnet change. No, no need for a battery cable change unless you upgrade the motor or controller.

The only way to get to a code 3 is to reprogram the controller to a code 3. If you buy a programmer it also give you the option to to fine tweak the regen braking (or pedal up speed) as well as a few other things.

a new programmable ALLTREX speed controller will take the place of

1. Renting programmer ( use a computer or laptop for alltrex)

2. Speed maganet

3. buying speed code 4 from club car

4 buying your own club car programmer for other accelaration and regen tweaks

5 getting tired doing little TWEAKS...and buy a new controller anyway

it still is a good idea to upgrade your battery cables and solonoid

you can only program to speed code 3 with out buying code 4 from club car and then i believe ONLY a club car dealer can do that mode.

i'm not sure but i think with the maganet you loose your NORMAL regen breaking cause the controller thinks you are going only 1/2 as fast....

and the alltrex programmable controller gives you INCREASED TORQUE for hill climbing (besides speed) and SO MUCH MORE features to adjust and play with.

And when you get bored You can play with controller adjustments adjustments.....

to each his own

if you use a magnet you WILL lose the regen braking. If you have 4 other carts that you want to program then your best bet would be to purchase a programmer so that you can adjust the settings to where you want them. I usually set mine up with code 3, fast accel on, and pedal up to 0 but that is the way i like it (I have had customers that want the pedal up turned as high as it will go so that they get more run time.)
