Default Factory Voltage limiter installation

I have a factory voltage limiter for a club car Ds (48v to 12V it think) . It is a small silver limiter, it has three wires 1 wire goes to the B- on the controller and two other wires with connectors go to a 8 prong ground termial block.

Ive got it hooked up like the instruction say to, I just dont think something is right. I still get 48v across the pack. How is the limiter suspose to work and do i hook the lights up to the battery pack or the terminal block?

thanks in advance.

Assuming it works like other voltage reducers, you pack voltage will remain at 48v . . . the reducer will take the 48v and reduce it to 12v for your lights/accessories . . if it connects to a fuse block, measure the voltage at the fuse block, and it should be 12v . . . if you are getting 12v at fuse block, that is where your lights get their power from, not from the 48v pack . . .

I get nothing across the terminal block. If I use a neg. #6 batt from the pack and put the pos end on the terminal block I get 48v.

Its has one wire going from reducer to the B- on the controller and and on the other end of the controller it has two wires with female connectors on it. So it really has negative power going through the reducer, where do you get the pos. power from.

I hooked the two wires up to the terminal block and ran a wire to the pos. terminal of the #6 battery and got a pretty good spark.

instructions say to hook the one side of the reducer with the ring terminal to the B- and the other two wires with the female connectors to the block terminal. now hook your 12v accessory to the + terminal of batt #5 and your neg. lead to the block terminal.

doing this i still get 48v to the accessory wires.
