Default recommended charging time for 36v lestronic II

my charger for my club car 36 v system doesnt shut off automatically. im fearing that i may blow up the batteries. please tell me what can and cant happen if i leave it on the charger too long and what the recommended time of charging when batteries are completely dead. thanks again

I don't know about " dead ", but I've had mine charge for 10hrs after a good while of using the cart. It will get down to about 2amps and stay there for quite a bit before it shuts off. I would say that if your batteries aren't getting hot, just let it charge. The charger will have a timed shutoff of around 16hrs, if the peak voltage rate doesn't turn it off sooner.
If you're sure your charger won't turn off I'd shut it off after 16hrs, but see if it will shut off automatically first. :)

Normal charge time is up to 16 hours depending on the state of charge you start with.
If your charger doesn't shut off in that time frame you likely need a timer board, available from our sponsors.

yes doug is right up to 16 hours...........if everything is ok don,t be afraid to let them charge 12 to 16 hours...........................................
