Default Can a 36v cart be charged with a generator and driven?

Can a 36v cart be charged with a generator and driven? I would only consider doing this if I was deep in the woods and away from camp. Is it possible and could it damage the charger? Thanks!

From a power standpoint, the most that charger is gonna generate is 30 amps @ 36vdc. That's not even enough to maintain top speed on level ground. Crawling over trees, climbing grades, and crossing muddy stretches requires much higher amp loads. I think a better strategy would be to charge the pack for an hour, then try to drive out. If the pack goes down again, charge it for another hour, repeat as needed. You'l get back to camp eventually.

Sounds as though a sparkie or 4-wheelre is better suited for your needs.

It may damage the stock charger,, but a full charge on the batteries will last a long time,, most stock chargers will turn the car off when pluged in, preventing the car from being driven. I go camping and drive all day and then when back at camp fire up the generater and stock charger for the night,,(I put enough gas in the gen to run for a few hours, so it stops on it's own)

You can put 3 5000 watt generators on a trailer and connect each of them to 2 batteries. Although, I didn't do the math, that should add to your run time!

I agree with the others, get a gasser or an ATV.
