Inline fuse for voltage converter

Hey guys,

I was wondering what kind of inline fuse holders everyone is using for their voltage converters?.. Like between the battery and the converter.. Every fuse holder that I came across says its good up to 32v.. But my cart is 48v..

Fuses are mostly rated in Amperes (amps)
I wouldn't worry too much about the voltage rating as much as I would about the ampere rating!

32V as compared to 48V is nothing if the ampere rating is relative! (I know this is going to start an argument! )
120V or 220V will be a totally different story!
As long as you keep within a 20 amp fuse rating, your fuse holder should be just fine!

I use automotive type fuse holders in my 48 volt cars
an amp is an amp, no mater what voltage.
the fuse holder saying it's limited to 32 might mean that they are not confident in the insulating propertys of there holder.

I'm using this one with a 25 amp ATC fuse. I also have other fuse blocks as well.

Thanks guys!!.. Found some good holders at Oriley.. For those with light kits, what size fuse do you use in your fuse block? I'm thinking at least 10 amps or am I way off?

count how many amps you lights use and pick a fuse just a very little over that amount,,,

I use a 10 amp ATC for my lights, 5 amp for horn and 20 amp for acc/cig lighter.

My light kit pulls 10A so I installed a 15A fuse. I installed a 15A fuse for the cig lighter and so far no problems. My converter is 20A with an in line fuse to protect it. Don't know what the fuse rating to the converter is since I didn't pull it and check it and, yes I know, I should have. Did I mention that I got my converter hooked up and working this weekend? That will be another thread.......

you want to use the smallest fuse that will supply you power needs,,,, if something "shorts" you want the fuse to blow before any major damage occures...

That's why I use a 10 amp for my lights. The slightest problem should cause it to "blow" before any real damage is done. I even tried a 5 amp, but after 10 mins, it was toast.
