Default Newbie...where do I start my MODS?

Hello everyone. i have a 99 club car. (48 volt) It is all stock, and I want to git-r-up and git-r-going!! where do I start FIRST! I will be using this at the campgrounds...just riding, and around the house. Can a STOCK cart suport bigger tires? I only go about 9.5 mph now.

Thanks...

Yes..Yes...YES!! Most of that I hope to get to. I am just wondering...if I do somthing first or in the "wrong" order....will it have to be done differently or changed later when I add somthing else??

Do I need to change the motor FIRST?

Can I speed up what I have while saving for the motor and lift.

I really need a flipup back seat....will a "stock" cart support that?

How many horse power is my "stock" cart?

Sorry, for so many Q's...I'm new @ this and am very much wanting to get things going.

Not necessarily, but it never hurts if you know what you will be doing with your cart. Remember there are motor upgrades for TORQUE or SPEED and BOTH.

The simple asnwer is, "only with larger tires".

I really need a flipup back seat....will a "stock" cart support that?
Yes, but it your cart will handle better rith Heavy Duty Rear Springs.

How many horse power is my "stock" cart?
3.2 horse power I believe

If you like the lifted look, start there first. Then cables, controller, motor...and then stereo and cosmetic work. My one cent.

Thanks for your help. what is the advantage or disadvantage between a regular lift and a "A-Arm" lift?? ANY? Is 6" enough for most larger tires?

I think I will start as follows:

1st. Lights
2nd. Back seat and HD springs
3rd. 6" lift and O/S tires
4th. Motor/controller/cables

does this make sence? any problems with this order??

You guys are great....my local shops are about usless!!

Thanks, Again....

Heres how I would do it and an explanation as to why.

Motor-Controller-cables.....My reason for thinkin this way is because you need those to carry around the weight your planing on carrying. (Rear seat and springs will be carrying something back there)

Secondly....Lift and HD springs....gonna need those springs to carry all the weight the motor-controller-cables are pushing around. That and your gonna have the rear axle apart to change springs you may as well put the lift in at the same time.

Lights can be last.

I am considering this package at Buggys:

http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/prod...&cat=158202305

However I have found others out there that ar more $$ for just the motor...a lot more, and dont even have a controller or cables?? Is this "kit" from buggys a real "crap" quality kit, or is the other stuff just WAY over priced??

What is a good motor/contoller brand?

How often should I put the cart on the charger? Should I let in run "mostly" down or charge everyday? 99--48 volt.

Dwitty,
I personally would not buy that kit at BU, you can save a few buck$$ by calling the sponsors here and pieceing a similar kit together. Decide on what you want; speed or torque and go from there. What do you ultimately want to accomplish with your cart? BU is very easy for one stop, don't know what you need buying, but I feel they only give advice that support their products. The more homework you do the better off you'll be.
