Just got a 98 48V and it jerks very bad when going up hill to the point of not moving at all. Battery guage shows full and all tested abot 8.5 volts not loaded. Could this be a motor or transmission problem?
has the italian rear axle transmission Does this in forward or reverse Mike |

It's a voltage issue. Batteries are the usual culprit, also battery wires could be near breaking. A control wire could be near breaking, the forward reverse switch could be wearing causing a short. Your motor brushes could be worn.
Jack the rear of your car up, and test the batteries while someone is making the wheels move at top speed, or drive it up to a concrete wall, or large tree, and put it under a high load. |

Seems to be the problem as one of the batts drops to 1.7 volts under load and another drops to 5.2 so I will get some new cells.
Thank you |
