Default 1988 club car vglide 36 volt wireing/battery

I just bought a 1988 club car 36 volt the guy told me it needed batteries, so I bought new batteries put on charger next day took to end of driveway and barely made it back , I checked batteries and did load test they seem to be fine . Don't know what else I can check.

I think 88 is the first year resistor coil drive system..... is there a row of resistor coils behind the batteries? Or is there 5 solenoids back there?

scotty 88 it might have 5 solenoids with a resistor coil on each of the 4 speed solenoids????? maybe........but 5.85 under load thats a tad on low side isn,t it one thing to keep in mind that they are only about 75% new and will get better after breakin..........make sure you leave charger on till it shuts off.............................................

ok from left to right you need to make sure the 4 solenoids with coils on them are all working.......you should hear 5 distinct solenoid clicks as your pressing pedal down...........................................

You can put the cart on a jack for this test so it don't run off.
