1994 DS Batteries do not appear to be charging. Charger is working
Everything has been going great. The cart is being used daily for all the work around our property. I added a battery charge indicator to monitor the charge.
Now however when I plug in the charger it is making a slightly different sound that usual and is not charging the batteries. I took the charger unit to my local golf cart repair shop and it tested at 40v output. I did find a loose wire going into the fuse block but after repair the problem is still there, same sound from the charger and nothing being charged. Batteries are showing a 3/4 charge on the indicator lights. Thanks for any advice on this; I need my cart back so I can work. |

Did this happen at the same time that you installed the charge indicator? If so I would double check how the indicator is wired up or disconnect it and check charging again.

Down South, thank you for your reply. I installed the battery indicator when I installed the new batteries. Everything had been working fine up to this point.
I will check all those connections however just to be sure.... |

I missed the part that you changed the batteries in your original post. I would verify that batteries are hooked up correctly and any other wiring that connects to the batteries.

Personal or not; they did not. I did not take the cart to the shop only the charger. Where are the diodes?

Re: 1994 DS Batteries do not appear to be charging. Charger is working
Thank you. I will have that checked out. I found loose wire which I tightened but that has had no effect. I plug the charger in and it stars buzzing away. The lights never change to indicate a full charge. My battery level indicator does not change either and the charger does not shut off.
If the diodes in the charger are the issue then I need to have that checked. |
