Default Frustration is kicking in

Curiosity got the best of me when I put a 36 volt motor on my 2001 Club Car 48 volt sepex. The cart wanted to go at first, then nothing. I don't hear the solenoid click anymore.

Old motor back on and no go. Put a new solenoid in and still nothing, no clicky. Any ideas?

A series motor is wired in series.....in short everything runs off of 1 positive and 1 negative.
One way a SEPEX motor differs is the feild and armature is powered by 2 different ciruits. I guess its possible for the series motor to work with a SEPEX controller if you wire the feild and the armature seperately rather than in series. Then again some SEPEX motors have a sensor and the controller won't work if it doesn't have that sensor.

If you wired it like the way I explained it the controller should be ok....its not really any different than a SEPEX....if you wired it like a series motor then you may have fried the controller. You could have overloaded the feild circuit in the controller...all kinds of things can happen. Check for any fuses, cables...all that sort of thing first.

Hmmm.. went over all the wiring and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Swapped out the controller(never tested before so this didn't prove too much) and still nothing. Is there anything else that can really go bad? There ain't much in there.

Sounds like to me you are not getting power to the solenoid. Check your voltages there. It could be key switch decided to go out or micro in throttle.

The solenoid clicks now but the cart still won't go. Is there a way to check the controller?
