Default Battery Rotation...

I have a CC 07 with 09 4ea. 12v Trojan batteries. Would there be any good in rotating the batteries for extending battery life? If so would you how would you rotate them. Example: clock wise, etc...

Do you power accessories off of one battery only?

I'm not sure there would be an advantage in doing it but it wouldn't hurt. Odds are the weakest battery will be the one powering your accessories. The best option would be to get a converter so it draws off the whole pack evenly.

Good question . . . don't have a good answer though . . . if I would do it, I would number the batteries and just keep moving them in one direction, ie, starting with the main negative battery (#1) (on driver's side) and move it one space toward the passenger side, replacing it with the main positive battery (#4) from passenger side and so on . . . just to develop a method/rhythm for my madness . . .

Thanks for the reply...Another thought, the charging, could it be beneficial to that? Moving the batteries closer to the charging point by rotating?...Batteries charging faster the closer to the charging point causing the batteries further away from the charging force not to be fully charged? Just some more thoughts....Frank

the way the OBC controls whats going on with charging i don,t think that rotating batteries is going to gain anything .....................if you have stuff hooked and running off 1 battery i would swap that stuff to another battery.............................

Haven't heard anyone mention that they do this and realize any benefit from it . . . batteries are all connected in series, so current "should" be flowing through each equally . . . individual battery condition (cell's SG, ie) would probably dictate that battery's "chargeability" (if that's a word) . . .

This is the route I would take, or you could add an acc, 12v battery and run radio and lights of the acc, battery, and charge it once a month
