2001 DS Realistic MPH
Hello all.
I have a 2001 DS 36 volt with Trojans that are less than 2 years old. It has the 2.9 Special Service motor on it. I'm fine with the way it runs right now. I don't need to be doing 25 MPH in the campground with a beer in my hand. But I was wondering if there is anything I should be critical of, such as the resistors, etc. to make sure it's running as efficient as possible. Thanks |

monthly maintence, water level in batteries, cables clean and tight .......just your common sense stuff.............if you have lights and anything running off batteries you should rotate them to other batteries every few months.........................................

Shadowman, Am I being to careful, I have headlights running off of 2 of my 8v batteries, but I hooked them up with small clips so that I can rotate batteries every time I use my lights. ( use would usually be no more than 15 or 20 minutes). Is that just overkill?

Re: 2001 DS Realistic MPH
Thanks for the info. I stopped by a cart repair place on my way home one day. The guy there told me that the resistors are prone to go bad and that will make the cart slower. He didn't seem too confident in what he was telling me, so I just wanted to confirm

as long as the lights are taking 16 volts with no issues its not a bad habit to change up when you feel like it..........if you use your lights regular than it wouldn,t hurt to change up every time you charge cart......now thats overkill but no harm would be done and if you have clips so it takes just a few seconds than by all means better more often than not often enough.......................for the other fellow just keep an eye on your resistor coils.....depending on your maintence you may never have to replace any of them.............................. |
