Default DS Replacement body fitment question

I am looking for a body for my 91 club car ds. My question is is there a difference between the body from a gas club car ds and an electric club car ds?

I am just getting into the golf cart business, and I believe there is a body difference between electric Club Cars and gas Club Cars. I only say this based on an add on the Ft. Wayne craigslist that I have seen several times. Do a search there and put in custom golf cart bodies converse, and the listing should come up. In the listing the author states that he has bodies already painted, and they are for EZGO fitting gas or electric, or Club Car DS, but will only fit gas, not electric. He is charging $550 for the ones that are already painted, with a swap for your panels. It appears he can also paint your panels the way you want, but I am sure the price goes up. I also see you are from Ft. Wayne and he is in Converse, so you shouldn't have far to go.

Hope this helps

Robin

This mfgr has complete body kits (available thru dealers for about $500) and they do not differentiate between gas/electric . . . contact them and ask your question:

there are holes cut in different places, hole cut for choke button or an eklec. hole cut for charge receptical also i would think that the area where the engine sits vs where the batteries would be is gonna be a little different i don,t know that for sure but one would think.........unless you can find one with no pre-cut holes and you can do that yourself............................

Like Shadowman said, the only difference is the hole location. Charger receptacle vs choke button... Otherwise they're the exact same... Here's some valuable information though. On the 1991 you'll need to purchase a front and rear body support. The front body support will support the front of the rear body and keep it from collapsing. The rear body support runs across the width of the body underneath the back of the seat bottom to keep it from collapsing when you sit on it. This wasn't necessary on a 1991 because the body was fiberglass and had plenty of strength without these supports. The front cowl will need a 1/4" spacer installed underneath it right below where the two holes are located for the canopy brace.

Where do I get these parts? I am pretty sure my cart does not have a fiberglass body. The body feels like a plastic. How do I tell of my cart already has the kit? The reason I am looking for a new body is mine came with a paint job but wasn't preped right and is starting to bubble.

I have been in contact with the guy in convers and if he gets any DS battery bodies in he will call me. He won't paint your body b/c he has had some issues with customers and perfers customers to pick out one that is already done with exchange.

If you check my post above, those bodies are solid color throughout . . scratches won't show a different under color . . pricing is probably better than some paint shops, but colors are limited . . .
