Default 99 48-volt club car problems

I am having problems with my golf cart not wanting to start right when you press the pedal there is a good bit of hesitation and also when it is running it kinda feels like what a gas cart with a dead miss would feel like ( alot of jerking) it almost feels like what a car feels like when the rear end is about to tear up. I have check all the connections on the batteries , just wondering is there something I can check very easily ?

Sounds like batteries are failing.

Well , its the motor and I guess i will have it rebuilt , it is a regen motor and the guy says the he can take all of that out and speed up the cart , said that it would cost about $ 200 .

Do yourself a favor and run a really good test on your batteries. Your
description sounds exactly like a bad or weak batteries. Seen it numerous
times.

You can't take out what doesn't exist. The regen feature is more of a controller deal than in the motor. The motor has a "Feild Coil" and then an "Armature" and on some a speed sensor. A series type motor has the same thing only it is connected differently. If you take out any components in the motor is simply will not run. With that being said, there are places that can modify a motor's internals to allow more speed or torque.

Seriously, if he is telling you he can take out the regen part of the motor he is full of crap and trying to put one over on you. I'm sure others will agree.

Thanks for the info , he may have just meant he could speed up the cart , which in all honesty is not even important to me I just want my cart to run like it is supposed to .

ps : we did a voltage check on all the batteries and they all checked to be good but before I even do anything we are taking the cart to a dealer and let them run a test on everything ( batteries , motor , etc ) before we do anything seems like money well spent .
