Default 1985 36 volt Resistor Club Car

I am new to the forum, but this looks like the place I need to be. I have acquired this cart from a neighbor for basically nothing. Cart has sat for several years inside his shop. I am prepared to do a full makeover on it. I have a well equipped shop and a generous budget.

I have read all the threads in the sticky section and learned a few things already. I learned the year is 1985. I knew it was 36 volt. I learned it was a resistor cart. Then I read the first several pages of threads as well. Lots of good stuff.

Here are my plans - 6" lift, some body work, some heli-arching, some accessories, and electrical. I really need help with my electrical plan. I would like a 25mph cart that will take the abuse of the lift. I am not opposed to replacing the entire electrical system to the best I can put in there.

I appreciate your ideas!

Scotty B - looks like I need some of your guidance! What would you recommend for this cart to get the best performance. I'm thinking I need to keep the 36 volt motor but install a good heavy duty controller and convert the pedal to a potentiometer type that will work with the controller. Maybe also swap the batteries out to 8 volts and take it to 48v. Is that a good path? What other parts would I need if this is a good setup? Thanks in advance!

I believe Scotty sells a kit that will take care of everything you need, if he doesn't respond here you can always send a private message but again he's been doing these kits for so long he is the person you want to talk to.........................
