Default Keep 36v and modify or sell and get 48v?

Ive got a 93 model club car d's 36v cart with new batteries that I want to turn into a hunting buggy. Seems to be low on power. And I have already researched in length what to do and have figured all that out but I am not sure whether I should just keep my card or buy a 48 V card and Sell mine? I found a 1997 club car 48 V model for sale for $850 is this a good deal? it said it had bad batteries. I know that Scottie B says my cart will run better converted to 48 from 36 rather than buying a 48 but I'm just not sure what to do at this point. It seems like there will be a lot of things that need to be purchased to convert mine to 48. Would it be worth picking up the 48 volt cart for 400 bucks with bad batteries and a good charger?it also has Flip down rearseat too. I'm just not sure that I want to wrap a whole bunch of money up into this until I figure out whether it is going to work for my hunting needs or not

for 400 if you need to put batteries in then your at about 1000 or 1100 already 48 volts.......you can alway put your 36 volt motor in it but for that price i would go that route...........................

Go which route? Will I get more power with a 36v motor on 48 or a 48v motor on 48?

How does putting 48 V to a 36 V motor give you more power than 48 V to a 48 V motor?

Running a 36v motor on 48v will produce 30% more torque and speed from the 36v motor.

400 bucks...I'd have to buy it no matter what! Would be a great start for the next project!

Even 15 yr old rust buckets with missing parts go for double that in my neck of the woods!

This is my 2¢ - - -, I would keep your cart if you like it. If you're not partial, get the 48V cart. If you just bought new batteries, you can get two more new ones and put them in the 48V cart! You can also put your 36V motor in the 48V cart. This along with a new cable set should get you a pretty decent performing cart. I am assuming both of these carts are series setups. You then can sell your original cart to recoup some of the money spent!
