Default Battery Light

06 IQ cart. Trojan batteries replaced last year

The orange battery light has never worked. I recently figured out since it was upside down that some golf courses disconnect it so golfers wont return in middle of round for low battery. I reconnected it, just the one wire was out of its quick disconnect clip. I replaced it and reinstalled it with the right side up. I have ran the cart now to just about complete discharge. Wont even flicker. I tried to reset the OBC as per the sticky. I didn't hear the reverse horn during the process. I took the light completely out. Before I spend the money on replacing it with a digital monitor is there a way to see if its just the bulbs or is something up line not sending the signal. I need someone with some electrical knowledge to advise me on how to hook up the two wires to an electricity source to see if the light glows. I need to get my cart in shape...plumquick is in the mail :)

Not a very good thing to do. As for the battery light, I would just install a digital one as it will give you a true reading of your pack voltage.

Digital meter.

My peronal ride is not IQ, but I maintain 3 at work that are, 1 has a battery light very regular even after new batteries and cables( only the ones on the batts ). I dont mean to hijack the thread BUT, What conditions turn this light on? is it a voltage meter in disguise?
I too have reset OBC, never heard reverse buzzer in the process...

When it lights up, it means a problem . . . conditions for it lighting up are in cart/charger owner's manuals . . .
