Default Adjusting Accelerator on a 93 CC DS

So the other day I decided to check the v glide on my cart and sure enough, it wasn't going all the way to the top when i push the peddle all the way down. So I get under the cart and start fiddling with the rod and eventually got it to go all the way up and shut off at the bottom. I took it down the road and when I hit the brakes they were trying to engage the parking brake too... Brought it home and realized what was going on. To make a long story short, I can't seem to get BOTH the brakes and accelerator working right together. I adjusted the accelerator to where it wouldn't engage the parking brake upon braking and sure enough, the v glide wont' go all the way up to the top now........What am I missing?!??!?!!

I'm going to upgrade to controller and 48v status very soon but until then I want to at least get this right.

Any adjustment on the v glide itself that I could use?

Still can't figure out my v glide situation but I did take the rear wheels and hubs off to find that my right side was, well, a mess. The brake shoes were ripped up and one was way off grinding against the hub, or used to be until it ground its place into the mix! Now I'm trying to find a brake shoe kit AND the spring kit for my cart and i'm not having much luck. I'd like to get new hardware because for some reason something is not allowing the brake shoe to stay in place, which is what caused it to fall out of place and get in the shape its in. Seems like the hold down pin might be gone. Hard to tell with the hub in the way!
Any advice on where to find the brake spring kit for it? I can only come up with a kit for 00.5' up club cars on buggies unlimited.......
