Cool 48v Club Car Sound System

Hi im looking to install a sound system in my 48 volt club car. I would like to have 4 speakers and a subwoofer. Im going to need to install an amplefier for the sub but im not into audio so i need help with which type of amp. I need help with how to wire the speakers and sub to the amp and then to the converter. Im looking to make this system sound really good and make it be a head turner.

I'd run Alpine PDX amplifier. Because they are digital supply, they are a bit more effecient on current draw vs standard amps. I don't know if you plan to use a stand alone 12 battery, but anything to ease current draw on your cart is bound to be beneficial.

Im planning to use a converter from 48 to 12. If i install 4 6x9 speakers how many watts should the amp be?

Power depends on you! Lol .. I'd look for a 4 channel amp that is 2ohm stable and can run in 4/3/2 configuration. Run it in a 3 channel mode. Front 2 channels run your 6*9, and channels 3 and 4 combined to run your subwoofer. I think alpine pdx4 will work. I think its 100*4, but in 3 channel you get 100 up front and 200-300 for the subwoofer. Running 3 channel mode with a 4 channel amp or using a 5 channel amp will leave only 1 footprint. Not a lot of room in a golf cart to mount multiple amps.

And because you want to be heard before you're seen, its going to take considerable power since you're basically open air.

Incedentally, Im a jl audio Boston pro kinda guy. In run their slash amps in my truck and boat, but I plan to use the alpine in my golf cart because they're compact and efficient.

Also, you can't beat there s line subwoofers for the money. Same goes with polk Audio and their coaxial and component speakers.

I'd just run the speakers off the head unit and get a mono amp for the sub. You really need an amp for the speakers?

An external amp is not necessary if you're looking to add a little bottom to a system you're already happy with.

I only suggested using an amp for his system because he stated he wants to turn heads. Which may require a bit more power :) I could be wrong though. Afterall, it is subjective. :D

The subwoofer would be a 15 inch kicker like this one. If you have a better idea for a sub that is cheaper but will still sound good let me know

That's a big speaker.in order for of to perform properly, you will need about a 3 cubic ft enclosure depending on your power. It's a huge box. Maybe you don't carry passengers? Lol .. Your system will be very bass heavy and out of balance with the headunit /speaker package you've selected.

You must like deep bass... I think you'd be more online with a 10" or 12" sub same .mfg with that headunit package .
