Tom -- I will try that as soon as I get another cart to "hiccup" as it were. Yesterday I had one that worked fine when put on the line, then it would not go forward. I pulled it, took the F/W switch apart, checked the contacts and put it back together (CC recommendation) and it worked. I did not adjust it or anything, just looked at it and reinstalled it.

i understand waiting till one acts up but if you take a few carts now that you know have acted up and swap controllers and than use them for everything you can now ( not just golfing ) and see if they still act up or if things go away than you know your on the right track..........i would put a few in and drive those carts ( put them thur the paces ) see how they do.....however you decide good luck with them and keep us posted....................................

I would have YOUR Clubs Lawyer read thru you club car lease agreement. Then send club car a registered lawyers letter stating you intend to void out the lease due to DOCUMENTED performance problems and switch to EZ-Go and you are putting them on notice that unless the problem is resolved in 30 days you will seek legal remedy .

Second look for any source of RF radiation close by. Two way radios , a radio station tower etc.
When i ran Ham radio transmitters out of my car I set off house Alarms, put office telephone systems on "HOLD" and came over the pa at McDonalds.

FR (radio field ) can do weird things, possible effecting the OBC or Controller as its wiring acts as an antenna......

If only one or two were effected I would say the cart itself...but with a lot that's a different story. Not a cure all answer..but a different approach

A long time ago a friend had an issue with his Precedent not running when it would rain or if there was high humidity. It turned out to be his connections with his built in charger. I asked before if your chargers are the built in type or are they stand alone... just curious...

absolutely..you right but i didn't want to go that deep..... But as long as we are there . He can also be getting FR feed back thru the power lines...

wonder If there is a Ham radio operator around the perimeter of the course.
You'd be surprised what a KW of RF can do .

I used to touch a 4' fluorescent bulb to my car transmitting antenna ....It would light up in my hands...and then stay lit as i walked around the car to VISUALLY check my radiation pattern..... Impressive to all who watched

Update

Here is what Club Car has come up with. They are saying that it is the F/R switches. I had one of their top mechanics come by and change out a few switches and he said he was leaning towards it being the solenoids. However, that doesn't work out either because if it was the solenoid, the cart would not go in reverse -- which they do -- so Club Car can only come up with the F/R switch. Having said that, I had a cart go down on the course the other day, one which had the switch replaced. Due to language barriers, I could not find out what happened -- Chinese golfers -- so I am still searching. I am leaning towards the controllers maybe having problems -- but will keep you posted.

Amazing that this problem still goes on . . . when you say "Club Car said", are you referring to THE Club Car or the local Club Car dealer down the blvd?
