Is there a simple Charger/computer test?
I have Club Car IQ, It was converted from a Regen 1 this last fall. I replaced the controller (lAlltrax), on board controller, mcor, harness, and various other small parts. Now the charger won't kick on. It did this a couple times earlier but started working again. Now nothing! Is there a simple way to check the charger or rule out the rest of the system? Any imput would be helpful. I'm worried if I don't get it charging the batteries will get ruined if it gets real cold!

Re: Is there a simple Charger/computer test?
When you changed out all of the parts you listed, did you ensure you ran the main negative wire through the hole in the On Board Computer. I hear that will prevent charging if it isn't routed through that hole. Others on here have more knowledge than I do though...maybe they can chime in soon.

Re: Is there a simple Charger/computer test?
Try the OBC bypass test.
You could try your charger on another cart too. OBC bypass & Test = The blackish (gray wire) wire coming out of charge receptacle has a yellow fuse holder, open it up and connect a jumper from the end coming out of receptacle to the negative on Battery 6 or the last one in series. Plug in the charger if it comes on your OBC is most likely TOAST. I strongly suggest anybody else wanting to convert a Regen I or II cart to a better drive system eliminate the OBC by using a stand alone charger. I have one that costs less than an OBC and 48v charger .... |
