I have new batteries in my precedent. After charging the hydrometer shows only 75% charged.

Re: batteries not charging completly
Did you let the charger run it's course and turn off by itself? Have you checked the voltage with a meter? Also remember, new batteries will take a good 20 cycles to reach their full potential.

There is nothing wrong with your batteries. New batteries are only about 75% of their potential when new. According to some major manufacture it takes up to 150 cycles before they reach their fullest potential. This is why it is important to not ask too much from them, like a 30 mile jaunt, when they are new... discharge lightly and recharge often. |

Re: batteries not charging completly
I should have been more specific. The new batteries are about four months old. They got me around the golf course fine until the last few days. Yesterday they would not go the entire 18 holes.

Re: batteries not charging completly
I would check them under load with a voltmeter to see what they are dropping to... you may have a bad cell in one? Was there any significant fluctuation in the SG readings of any battery?

Re: batteries not charging completly
Have you also maintained the water levels? Can you also post each individual battery readings after a full charge. Juts let them rest 12 hours before taking a reading.

Re: batteries not charging completly
I do let the charger shut off by itself. the water level has been maintained. The sg readings are consistent on all six batteries. I checked each battery with a volt meter and those readings are consistent as well.

Re: batteries not charging completly
What year is the cart? Didn't some years have an issue with the OBC shutting the charger off to early?

The cart is a 2004 model but it has been converted to the eight volt battery system.
