unless the new motor has a built in speed sensor (hall effect senser) the club car factory controller will go into default and only allow 8MPG. with the speed sensor dis-connected

you would need to change controllers to one that doesn't utilize a speed sensor

like an alltrex..i myself have a 2005 precedent with an alltrex 500amp controller and stock motor...this setup gives a lot more speed and torque.

i would advise a new controller and thicker wires first ..then see if a new motor is needed

scottyb ..can help you on the wires

Definitely not. The IQ car is equipped with a shunt wound motor. The 36 volt motors were all series wound motors. It won't work at all. You'd need a series 48 volt car for this to work.
