Running head & tail lights question????
Newbie here,
I installed head & tail lights and wired them to two points in the battery series where they work fine (on a switch). Question; is this the best way to run them or should I look into getting some type of a converter and stepping down the voltage through all the batteries to run them? 91' CC 36v. Thanks for any help. |

Re: Running head & tail lights question????
A good (20 amp or plus) voltage converter is the preferred method. Just because using any two will draw those 2 down further than the rest of the pack and eventually weaken them. That being said, you could use a different 2 every month to minimize this imbalance.
It depends on how much you actually use them too? |

Re: Running head & tail lights question????
Someone here on the forum even mentioned some time ago, putting some type of alligator clip on the ends of the wires on the batteries and moving them to a different set of 2 batteries each time they were used.
Thats not a bad idea.................. Lights are a large current draw, so it would be best if there were a converter. From the "for what it's worth" Dept. |

Re: Running head & tail lights question????
Thanks. I thought a converter might be a better solution. I just followed the installation directions but my gut was telling me I might need to use the whole pack to help prevent issues.
I am new to playing with this golf cart and adding mods. I bought it for when my wife and I are at different Motorcycle rallies. I installed a 6" lift with 22" muds and crome wheels, HD back springs, rear flip-top seat and lights. The mechanical stuff was easy, but I am just learning the electrical on this thing. |

Welcome to the forum drstreet......................
Well, as you indicated, bad FNR switch or microswitch for the forward direction. Check by putting the FNR lever in Forward, press the accelerator pedal a little, and wiggle and move the FNR handle within the range of the forward movement, to see if the cart attempts to move. |

Welcome drstreet. Not many members will find your question tagged onto the end of someone elses' thread. Please go to electric yamaha section and start a new thread with your question for the best results......I agree with rusty nuts... likely F/R switch problem

Any idea for finding a good 20 amp converter? BU has one for $149 that is 16 amp continuous or 20 amp short period. I have not found the right combo of words for ebay yet to hit the jackpot.. |
