OBC = On Board Computer . . . mounted in motor area . . follow black negative cable from battery pack to where it passes thru wall to to motor area . . this negative cable will pass thru a hole in the center of the OBC . . .

Yeah like I said I wil be going up to pick the Battery's in a few weeks threy are there now I just need to schedule severial things to do at the same time it cost me $125.00 in fuel to go to my sisters and help her. I have a issue there now but it can wait untill I line up some more ducks the Battery's are Ciccinnati Oh and that is kind of in the route so I can swing through there on my way back.
Thanks for the help I know that you don't want to step on any bodys toes here and you are not I can take all of the input there is just because you see this issue a litte different does not make it worng or Dave right it is just 2 opinions that come to the same end. Except that if there really is a Max Time setting in this charger than I think it is there for a BACKUP TO PREVENT OVER CHARGING and would need to be repaired in my opinion. I am not going to be the 1 doing the charging and watching it to see if the system is working correctly. If I understand this correctly then the system will shut down when the Battery's reach full charge. If it does not see full charge then the Max Time switch kicks it out so it won't over charge the battery's. If this is true and I understand it correctly the Max Timer will protect my New Battery's for getting ruined and I think it would need to work!
Maybe I am wrong here but the charging stystem would not have the Max Timer if it was not needed. So in your first reply Tom you said the the OBC could be replaced for $150 or so I wish you could give me the site or link to find 1 so at least I am prepaired and know what needs replaced or anybody else that knows it would be great and BETTER YET IS THERE A UPGRADE FOR THIS SYSTEM ON A 97 CLUB CAR if I have to spend money to repair it I would much rather spen a little more and upgrade it remember this is for a Handicapped person who WON'T understand anything other than Plug it in and how to read the battery gage if there is a upgrade kit what is the kit number and where can I find 1.

Thanks K C

Get new batteries and your charger and gauge should work fine.

Dave I am getting the battery's and will just shut up I guess that the Max Time issue is not anything to be concerned with and my charger will shut off like it should. I keep reading other sites and replies about the same thing and see answers that the computer needs reset and that the charger will quit chargiung aftet 16 but keep running to maintain the battery's and thease reply's come from every place golf cart repair places to sales sites so you can see the confusion on my part I will stop buy the dang battery's and hope it all works.

Yes I am going to buy the Battery's and go from there.

I have been reading For Sale post and it looks as if this Cart after I completely go through it is in the $2400 range Painted and standing tall with that in mind I think I will be ok I will have close to $1850-$1950. invested not counting labor of course. I have been looking at other places and rebuilders are saying this cart in its current condition is not worth $200 I say bs the parts alone are worth way more but I allready bought it so I have what I have. I paid $1200 for it with them saying everything was good and working correctly it has lights and a enclosure looks new so I thought it was a ok buy Guess Not! K C

Thanks I was starting to think I was crazy but I had been looking for a while before her cart came up l and thought it was a ok deal even if I had to replace the Battery's and after talking to you and Tom I think it is for the best anyway to start with a clean slate knowing the battery's were broke in correctly etc...
