NO! That will change the geometry of the bell crank and reduce the throw of the arm and ultimately the output of the potentiometer. Do not mess with the Belcrank....
Egg out the hole in the frame where the linkage comes thru or put a spacer between the frame and the bell crank to raise it up... do not raise it too high or it will hit the charge receptacle at full peddle.
Consider bending your linkage ~ might work? .
I like the idea of egging out the hole in the frame so you have clearance... This problem occurs only in certain years and I'm working on a solution.

You are awesome! What's the bolt with the nut welded to the bell crank for? Looks like it's for an adjustment but I can't make sense of it........yet

My throttle linkage seems a bit too short to get the full throw at this point also. Can I lengthen it enough with the adjustments at the front and back end of it?

If you start with the bellcrank vertical when the peddle is in the neutral position (UP) then the bolt is an adjustable stop which hits the frame rail.

Also, just making sure, but you DID put 2 longer cables in my kit for my rear batteries, right? Your diagram you sent is for wiring 8-6v's so I assume it's all there. Hard to tell just looking at all the 2 gauge cable goodyness!;)
