Radio for Precedent
It's time to add a little music to the cart. I'm thinking of adding a marine radio just to be safe and power it with a separate battery in the bagwell. I sure hate to spend the dollars for an overhead console and I'm going to try and avoid that. Anyone have any suggestions on radio type/brand, speakers or installation? Thanks.

Re: Radio for Precedent
Here's some pictures of mine. I used a Sony Radio and the Polk db651 speakers and they sound great. The radio is mounted in the dash using one of the radio enclosures but shimmed to lower in to center it top to bottom.

Re: Radio for Precedent
Very nice. Have you had good results with the Sony? What's the model #? Marine? The dash kit I assume you ordered?

Re: Radio for Precedent
This is the Sony unit I bought through Crutchfied (I got it for $80 on sale and with coupon) http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158DSX2...media+receiver. It isn't a Marine model so I do run a risk, but it really isn't exposed the the elements. I may put some weather stripping around the door, but haven't yet. The dash kit was about $14 on Amazon -
, I bought this antenna on there too -
and the speakers -
.

Re: Radio for Precedent
Thanks a lot for the help. $14 seems a very fair price for the dash kit....

Re: Radio for Precedent
Here are a few shots of the install I did in my cart. The radio is not marine rated but has a marine cover over it and the speakers are marine rated. I have included the links to the full build.
