Default Save $$$ Legacy Potentiometer vs. MCOR Replacement

As many of you know CLub Car no longer sells parts for their original pot box for the Curtiss 1204 controller. Instead they (along with other vendors) offer an MCOR replacement mod for around $350.

There is nothing in the black pot box but a potentiometer. This the only electrical component besides the microswitch mounted on the outside of the pot box. I have located a source for the OEM pot. About 20 are available and I may have to buy all of them. The price will be less than $45.

I am looking to see if anyone else is interested in participating. The install is much easier than the MCOR mod and I will be posting pics of the procedure.

I have 3 Club Car Carryall's. A 1998 and two 2000. One of the 2000 model's pot is completely inoperative and the 98 model's resistance does not go below 1000k. So it appears that these pots have about a 10 to 12 year life. This is a great opportunity to save $300 bucks and get original factory performance.

Please let me know if you are interested.

I got the quote back from the manufacturer of the OEM throttle pot. I can offer them for only $29.95 as long as I can to reasonably expect to sell all of them.

Here is a offering on eBay for the pot box assembly. The only thing in the black box is the pot and the black box is open on the back. This unit is offered on eBay for $229.95. Yours can be like new for a little over 10% of that. Let me know if you want one.

No, I bought this one first. It is not the same pot. It is the same series but sweeps 360 degrees to get 5K. The OEM pot was custom made by this manufacturer to go from 5K to 0 in about 90 degrees since that is all the pedal assembly can turn. The OEM pot is a 6187-153A.

The manufacturer still has some of the OEM pots but requires a minimum lot of 20. I only need two so if someone else wants to buy from the manufacturer let me know and I will buy mine from you.

I'm not here to discuss price. I'm not a site sponsor. But wow. Some of the Internet markups are a bit ridiculous

So do you think the MCOR mod is being marked up 1000 percent or is a replacement OEM pot for $29.95 shipping included a good deal. You're in the business so what would you do?
