Default Brake light time delay???????

Brake lights were on all the time if key was on. Replaced brake switch located under brake pedel. Brake lights work fine. However once the parking brake is on the brake lioghts stay on. After three minutes I turned switch off and brake lights went out. turned the switch on (parking brake still on) and brake light stayed off. So where is the time delayrelay whatyamacallit located?

I'm not sure. Mine do the same thing and really never left it on to see if they eventually shut off. Also this may be normal so maybe someone else will chime in. You would think there is something that controls them since you turned the key off and then back on and the brake lights stayed off..
